The creation of and the symbolism behind
the Support Our World Ribbon of Infinite Possibilities
The infinity symbol in the Support Our World ribbon, signifies the oneness of all and the timeless nature of our existence. Coupled with the term support our world it is designed to bring awareness to the fact that we are all in this together. This all came about when I first saw the support our troops ribbon. That ribbon created a feeling that its' message was so very limiting in so many ways. I do support human lives that are put on the line for their country, however I do not support war as a vehicle to promote a political, social or economic agenda.
When I first spotted the support our troops ribbon, I immediately envisioned creating a similar looking ribbon using the infinity symbol signifying oneness with all. Almost instantaneously, Support Our World came to mind and the Support Our World Car Magnet was born. As I started to create the artwork, web site and marketing materials for the car magnet, the symbolism of this simple design struck me and the term "ribbon of infinite possibilities" came to mind. A symbol that could be branded and placed on additional items, such as a recycled cotton tote bag or a backpack
The desired message from the Support Our World brand is one of inclusiveness; we are all in this together, to support all lives, the lives of the animals and the life of this earth that supports us. Let's work to remove the politically created separation and segregation and strive to treat all as we would ourselves. The infinity symbol provides this sense of oneness, there is no beginning, no end, only infinite possibilities. The term Support Our World is meant to embrace and support everything on, and around, this earth; humans, animals, nature and the environment.
My hope is that the Support Our World Ribbon of Infinite Possibilities becomes a symbolic part of a movement already started by many individuals and organizations to raise the awareness level of the fact that we are all in this together. Oneness with all, in multiple dimensions of time and space, as signified by the infinity symbol.
